Sunday, December 24th, 2006I’m back in a piece 
going to write all about my climb at MT kk. It’s going to be pretty long, Started the journey at 7am in the morning, It’s a 2hours journey from my stay at beach lodge. A very nice and clean place, best thing i got the dorm all my myself. There is a couple who goes to the trip with me as well. The lady is pretty experience she did MT Kimanjaro before!
Anyway back to my sumit
Prior the night I’ve already packed 1 bag to pass to a porter :) met my guide (dominic), very nice guy, young and single and best of all he is the most patient person.. WAHAHAHA
Happily started the climb, it’s pretty much steps, just impagine our HDB steps (3 steps = 1 step here) after the first 20 steps i was like "Maybe it’s not too late to turn back" Yup kns right but that was my thinking then. Of course i continue lah.
the next 2km, i strugglled to find rythem of walking and breathing. By then i have already decided to throw my whole bag to the guide. GRIN.. Continue the submit.. the rest the pretty much the same.. It gets pretty straight forward, put your leg up to the next step, lift your body.. and continue continue
the excitment starts when i reach the 4.5km, then i started to feel dizzy and by the next 15 min, i feel like puking., continue continue then really puke. So my last 2km took me 5 vomit + 3 hours (with plently of resting) It was pretty bad at the last 200m, every 50m i will stop for a while . My poor guide, he’s with me every second. the last 4 stops I ask " can i stop here" He will smile and shake his head" Almost all who pass by me ask me if I’m ok (which is not a lot lah) . 2 guys from singapore ask if they could help me with my water, I’m only carrying 300ml of water lei.. How pathetic!
At that point, my mind was like = How much does it cause to evacuate me from the mountain via helicopter.. can i get 4 porters to lug me down.. Anyway finally i reach the house. Total journey took me 8.5 hours when it’s pretty much a 5 hour journey. Of course when i finally reach the house, i collapse on a chair bend over with a plastic bag.
Dramatic news, NO MORE ROOM THERE, I have to walk another 100ms up. Basically at that point i refuse to move! finally the crew saw that i was so bad, decided to give me a room. Room for 4 and I’m the only lady. Note that in East malaysia people are very conservative thus there’s are no mixed dorms I was like never mind lah, if you wan 500bucks then take it lah. Just give me a bed.
The angmo gave up his bed in the lower deck, so sweet but of course i could not say much.. just flop onto the bed and zzz.. that was me after walking 8hrs, all sweathing and tired.. Don’t tell me anything about hygenie!
