Recovery on the way

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

Called my grandma yesterday! I was sooo glad to hear that her voice is loud and clear. Just a month back, she was dignanosed with a slight stroke and she was so weak when we (my family) visited her in malaysia.

The medication she was on made her feel so worse as it was too strong, required some trial and error to get her correct dosage. We are pretty worried then.

Got in a maid, according to Gran she is very happy with the maid. But initially she is pretty against this idea. Does that happen to all the old folks?  Could be all the negative information in the papers

Anyway, I’m very happy that she is getting better now!

Sob Sob Sob! For those who don’t know my family, here is some background, I grew up in a gambling family. I remember following my mom when she goes playing manjong when i’m young. During my teen years  there will be a table of black jacks and a table of manjong at home in the night. Those will the time when our 4 room flat is rented out to about 13 people, 11 guys and 2 ladies. YUP 1 big family!!

Because of that reason, I’m seldom shy in front of strangers and strangly enough I’m not that interested in gambling. I’m pretty well-trained actually, If you name it, i know it. From cards to tiles, I’m good at it (except for manjong which took me some time to grasp)

As I grew older and my family financial got better, we stop renting out to people. The gambling stops for a while too. For the last 3 years we started to have weekly games of course it has something to do with cards and tiles. The main players are, mom, dad, brother, sister and me. Of course we played in cents. Of course $ wasn’t on our mind when we played. It’s actually a family activity which you folks should try too.

But me, a pretty lucky person hardly loses. But recently, whatever I’m bound to lose. From cards to manjiong to rummy (another tile game). Did not believe my luck and force my brother to draw cards with me (big/small) AGAIN I LOST.. SIGH

Guess I have to wait a while before I step into the gambling world!!
